Internal Structure
 
CORTE is a member-based organization composed of the following levels:
  • the Annual General Assembly

  • the Board of Directors

  • the Brussels-based Secretariat led by the Managing Director

  

The Annual General Assembly is the highest decision-making body composed of all the Members.   

 
The Board of Directors is entrusted with the political and strategic leadership of the Association. It has the responsibility of managing the Association, thus sets targets, elaborates general strategy, implements the Association’s policies and determines the results that are necessary for this.The Board of Directors is composed of at most fourteen persons coming from the Full Membership and consists of  the Chairman and at most thirteen Directors with specific portfolios.
 The Board of Directors  is supported by the Brussels-based Secretariat which is led by a Managing Director and implements all decisions and ensures liaison between the association and the European and international institutions as well as with the other stakeholders in Brussels and anywhere else.

Working Committees
 

Because we believe that our activities should be aimed at areas shaping European transport policies today and in the foreseeable future, four Working Committees have been established.

 

Each Working Committee will be led by a Chairperson, while all Chairpersons will compose the CORTE Steering Committee which is to advice the Board on a variety of issues requiring expertise.

 

The new Working Committees are the following:

  • Road transport & Road Safety

  • Road transport & Security

  • Road transport & Environment

  • Road transport & Infrastructures

 Membership
 
  • Full Members
Full Members are national enforcement agencies, the police and government transport  
departments from the EU Member States, the European Economic Area, and non-EU AETR
countries.
 
  • Associate Members
Associate Members are organizations active in the field of road transport and groups of
interest involved in road transport in Europe and abroad.
 
  • Observers
Observers are industrial partners developing services and products in CORTE’s fields of
expertise and interest.
 
  • Honorary Members
Our membership also encompasses Honorary Members, which are invited from the road
transport community as its profiled and engaged representatives.
