Driving times (TRACE)
TRACE is a Road Transport project partly funded by the EU Commission (DG MOVE). The full name of the project is Transport Regulators Align Control Enforcement. The project started in August 2010 and ended in August 2012. TRACE project partners are CORTE, VOSA (United Kindom), ECR. TISPOL was also associated to the work.
TRACE supported the development of a European harmonised training format for enforcers controlling the respect of the Drivers' Hours' Rules Regulation. This goal was achieved through the creation of harmonised training modules for control officers. This assisted in reaching the project´s overall objective of common professional standard for control officers in the field of Regulation (EC) n° 561/2006. Among others deliverables, the TRACE project produced an explanation text of Regulation (EC) n° 561/2006. This explanation text was reviewed by the TRACE consortium and received the overall agreement of CORTE Members and a number of key stakeholders involved in the implementation of these rules. As a result, the EU Commission (DG MOVE) has decided to translate the explanation text produced by CORTE and its TRACE partners in all EU official languages (these translations are made available in January 2013).
All TRACE documents and results are availble on the CORTE website, under the CORTE Enforcement Working Group documents (2012)
