Eu Driving & Resting Times

The EU Driving & Resting Time as well as Tachograph Regulations aim to improve drivers' working conditions and road safety. They also enhance compliance with the rules and foster competition between road operators. Social legislation in EU road transport is crucial for achieving fair working conditions and for ensuring the proper functioning of the EU single transport area. Non-uniform implementation and insufficient enforcement, as well as a need for better cooperation between EU Member States and authorities are some of the main challenges related to the implementation of these regulations.

CORTE through its Working Group on Calculation Rules works with its members to assess the enforceability of the measures related to driving and resting times proposed by the European Commission in the mobility package.
